Gynaecological Consultations
This service covers all gynaecological problems which could affect women's health and physical wellbeing such as abnormal uterine bleeding, pain & bleeding during & after intercourse, pelvic pain & endometriosis, prolapse and urinary incontinence, etc..
One Stop Bleeding Clinic

Dr Galal runs one stop bleeding clinic for women with heavy menstrual bleeding, irregular periods, breakthrough bleeding, peri & postmenopausal bleeding where consultations, pelvic scans and outpatient endometrial biopsies are performed in one setting.
Antenatal Care
Dr Galal and his team offer a comprehensive antenatal care package which provides high quality care throughout your pregnancy. It includes a full schedule for antenatal visits, pregnancy scanning as well as parenting & child health services. See Details
Pre-eclampsia screening
Screening for pre-eclamsia is provided at our rooms at your 11-14 week scan. The test is based on your medical history, pregnancy hormone levels, placental blood flow as assessed by ultrasound and your blood pressure measurements.
Obstetric & Gynaecology Ultrasound
Dr Galal provides comprehensive ultrasound services in both Obstetrics & Gynaecology at his rooms in Brunker Road. Scan reports are provided at the end of consultations and a copy of the report is sent to the referring doctor at the same time.
Gynaecological Surgery
Dr Galal performs a wide range of gynaecological procedures at Newcastle Private Hospital including endometrial ablation, abdominal & vaginal hysterectomies, diagnostic & operative laparoscopies, vaginal wall repair for prolapse and other gynaecological surgeries.
Colposcopy & Vulvoscopy
This service is provided to evaluate abnormalities of pap smears, cervical abnormalities and disorders of the external genital organs including pain, discomfort, itching and skin discolouration.

Fertility & Recurrent Miscarriage

Our services include fertility investigations, induction of ovulation as well as investigations & treatment for women with recurrent miscarriage.
Early Pregnancy Assessment Services
This is the only private pregnancy assessment unit in Newcastle. It includes specialist consultation, early pregnancy scans, measurement of blood level of pregnancy hormones and specialist nurse support. See Details

Helen is our senior Registered Nurse at Brunker Road Medical Centre with extensive experience in practice nursing.

She maintains high standards of quality control, embraces changes and works with the rest of the team to provide a wide range of excellent care to our women.
Helen Conn
Maureen is a registered nurse with postgraduate qualifications and experience in cardiothoracic, anaesthetic and recovery.

In recent years she has worked in the primary care setting of General Practice and thoroughly enjoys the challenge and variation.
She regularly attends educational meetings and keeps up to date with recent developments in general practice..
Maureen O'Neill
Sarah completed her midwifery degree and registered general nurse training in the UK before going on to obtain a Bachelor Degree in Community Health from the University of Wales, UK.
She has been practising in parent and child health for the last 17 years both in the UK and in Australia. Most recently Sarah has worked as a clinician in the HNE Parent and Infant Mental Health services.

Paula Crean is a Registered Nurse and Midwife and mother of three. She has 20 years of experience working in midwifery in a variety of settings.
Paula is passionate about caring for, educating and supporting women and families in their childbearing years.

Dr Mohamed Galal
Obstetrician & Gynaecologist

Dr Galal is a consultant and a conjoint senior lecturer in Obstetrics & Gynaecology who is passionate about providing the highest level of care to his patients.
​
Dr Galal has vast experience in all aspects of obstetrics and gynaecology in both Australia and the UK. He is a fellow of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists in Australia and New Zealand as well as in the UK. He obtained PhD and Master’s Degree (MSc) in his specialty and the joint RCOG/RCR Diploma in advanced obstetric ultrasound from London.

Dr Galal worked as a consultant in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at John Hunter Hospital and a conjoint senior lecturer at the University of Newcastle for

many years where he had a significant role in teaching of medical students, training of doctors and regularly participated in GP teaching. Dr Galal is an instructor in a number of training courses for management of obstetric emergencies and has several publications in medical books and journals.
Dr Galal has privileges to practice at Newcastle Private Hospital, John Hunter Hospital and Maitland Private & Public Hospitals. In his rooms at Brunker Road Medical Centre, he provides obstetrics & gynaecological consultations, runs comprehensive ultrasound services and performs a range of outpatient gynaecological procedures. He performs a wide range of gynaecological surgery at Newcastle Private Hospital.
